Alumni

“Ukrainian Fulbright Circle” (Ukrainian Fulbright Kolo) is an organization that unites the Fulbright Ukraine Program alumni. Today charitable organization “Ukrainian Fulbright Circle” brings together more than 350 active members, including scientists, teachers, cultural and artistic figures, university administrators and public activists who work at various educational and research institutions in different regions of Ukraine.

History

In 1999, graduates of the Fulbright Program founded a Public Organization “Ukrainian Fulbright Society”, which was headed by:

Later NGO “Association of Alumni of the Fulbright Program in Ukraine” was founded. In 2011-2013 it was headed by Natalia Vysotska, Professor of the Department of Theory and History of World Literature, Kyiv National Linguistic University; Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program 1994-1995, University of Mississippi, University, MS; Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program 2002-2003, Kennan Institute, Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, Washington, DC.

In 2013 a Charitable Organization “Ukrainian Fulbright Circle” (UFC) was registered.

Tetiana Yaroshenko became the first Executive Director of the “Ukrainian Fulbright Circle” (2013–2018). Tetiana Yaroshenko is a PhD in History, Vice President for Scientific Work and Informatization of the National University “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy”; Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program 2004-2005, Yale University, New Haven, CT; Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program 2010-2011, Columbia University, New York, NY.

Since 2018 the organization has been headed by Natalia Moussienko, Chairwoman of the UFC Board, UFC Executive Director, PhD in Philosophy, Leading Researcher of the Institute of Modern Art of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine; Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program 2010-2011, Kennan Institute, Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, Washington, DC.

Small grants

The UFC Small Grant Program is sponsored by the Institute of International Education and the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the US Department of State. Every year the UFC Board select 15–20 applications submitted by Fulbright Program alumni, including researches, creative or publishing projects, and provide support for participation in international scientific conferences. Small grants are awarded in accordance with the current “Regulations on the Small Grant Competition for members of the Ukrainian Fulbright Circle, graduates of Fulbright academic exchange programs”.
