Scholar/Professional Status: Academic candidates must have a post-graduate academic degree (Kandydat Nauk, Ph.D., Ph.D. in Arts, Doctor Nauk). Professionals and artists outside academia may be exempt from the requirements to have a third level qualification if they have 10 or more years of professional qualifications and/or experience, recognized professional standing, and substantial accomplishments. Experience gained as an undergraduate or graduate student does not count toward years of experience for the Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program.
NOTE: Candidates who have resided abroad for five or more consecutive years in the six-year period preceding the date of application are ineligible. In this case, a period of nine months or more during a calendar year is considered to constitute a full year abroad.
